1.Impact Crusher discharge port size is too large

The material flow rate is accelerated: When the discharge port is too large, the residence time of the material in the crushing chamber is shortened, and it can be discharged through the discharge port more quickly. This reduces the filling rate of the material in the crusher and reduces the resistance of the rotor during operation. From this perspective, it seems that the power consumption will be reduced.

 

Poor crushing effect: Since the material is discharged without being fully crushed, in order to achieve the same production capacity and product particle size requirements, it is necessary to increase the feeding speed, resulting in more material entering the crushing chamber. However, these larger particles that are not fully crushed still require a certain amount of energy to push them through the discharge port during the discharge process, which will increase the overall power consumption of the crusher. At the same time, in order to make up for the lack of crushing effect, other equipment may need to be added to perform secondary crushing of the material in the future, further increasing the energy consumption of the entire production process.
 

2.Discharge port size is too small

Material blockage and accumulation: If the discharge port is too small, the material discharge speed slows down, and it is easy to form blockage and accumulation in the crushing chamber. This will greatly increase the rotation resistance of the rotor, and the motor needs to output more power to maintain the operation of the rotor, resulting in a sharp increase in power consumption.

 

Increase in the number of crushing cycles: In order to allow the material to pass through a smaller discharge port, the crusher needs to perform more crushing cycles on the material. This means that the rotor needs to continuously impact and crush the material, and the motor needs to continuously provide higher power, which increases the power consumption of the equipment per unit time. Moreover, long-term high-load operation will accelerate the wear of the equipment, reduce the service life of the equipment, and increase maintenance costs and downtime.
