Sand Dryer is known as river sand dryer, yellow sand dryer, quartz sand dryer etc. It has advantages of processing a large number of materials, reliable running, flexible operation, strong adaptability, large capacity. The dry sticky paste material or higher water content material.

 

These large scale rotary dryer can take sand which has a moisture content of up to 8.4 percent, and dry it out at very high temperatures. They can dry sand in large quantities - more than a ton per hour for even the smallest of units, and they use relatively little power to do so, producing sand with an effective cost of less than $5 per ton. These machines can be used to keep the water content of materials below 0.5% to 1%, which puts it within standard industrial requirements.

Rotary dryer working principle

In the rotary dryer, on the inner wall of the cilinder, there are many lifting plates which is welded according to one special methods. When the sand dryer drum is rotating, these lifting plates makes the sand up and down to mix with the hot air completely. Druing this process, the moisture is evaporated.

 

On the another side of the sand dryer, there is one high pressure draught fan which sucks out the steam. And the steam goes into the cyclone dust collector. In the cyclone dust collector, the dust inside the steam falls down and goes out through the discharging hole of the cyclone dust collector. The stream goes into atmosphere directly through the chimney which is connected to the cycone dust collector.

Sand drying System

The sand drying system of the rotary dryer is a comprehensive system of equipment and related process flows for drying sand. It is mainly used to reduce the water content of sand so that it meets specific usage requirements or is easy to store and transport. Rotary Dryer Sand Drying System Configuration:

1. Rotary Dryer:

- Type: Direct Rotary Dryer

- Features:

- Cylindrical rotating drum to facilitate drying process

- Lifting flights or material lifters inside the drum to agitate and move the sand

- Heating source (natural gas, propane, diesel, or electricity) to provide the necessary heat for drying

- Discharge end with a discharge chute to remove dried sand

 

2. Burner System:

- Type: Depending on the heating source (e.g., gas burner, oil burner, electric heater)

- Features: Provides the heat energy required for the drying process

 

3. Air Flow System:

- Fan: Provides the necessary airflow to carry moisture-laden air away from the sand

- Ducting: Transports the hot air from the burner to the rotary dryer and carries the moisture-laden air away

 

4. Cyclone Separator:

- Function: Separates the moisture-laden air from the dried sand

- Features:

- Collects the fine particles and returns them to the dryer for further drying

- Allows the dried sand to exit the system while directing the moist air to further treatment or emission control

 

5. Baghouse Filter (Optional):

- Function: Cleans the exhaust air before it is released into the atmosphere

- Features:

- Removes fine particles and dust from the exhaust air

- Helps in meeting environmental regulations and maintaining air quality

 

6. Control System:

- Features:

- Monitors and controls the temperature, airflow, and other parameters of the drying process

- Ensures efficient operation and optimal drying performance

 

7. Material Handling Equipment:

- Conveyor Belt: Transports the wet sand to the rotary dryer and carries the dried sand away from the system

- Bucket Elevator (Optional): Transfers sand between different process stages if needed

 

8. Insulation and Enclosure:

- Features:

- Insulates the rotary dryer to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency

- Encloses the system for safety and to control dust emissions
