100TPH Granite Crusher Plant in Zimbabwe

Granite, with its Mohs hardness of 6-7, requires durable, efficient crushing equipment to produce consistent aggregates for concrete, road bases, and building foundations. The granite plant was commissioned in early 2025 for a local quarry that supplies aggregates to major contractors in Zimbabwe.

The 2-stage stone crushing line—designed to process 100 tons of raw granite per hour—was tailored to Zimbabwe’s needs: it handles hard granite efficiently, complies with the country’s National Building Regulations (NBR 197). The crushing line’s core goal: deliver stable, high-quality aggregates (0-5mm sand, 5-10mm, 10-20mm, 20-31.5mm) for road and construction projects.

Main Equipment of the 120TPH Granite Crusher Plant

The 2-stage crushing line consists of five key components, each selected for granite’s abrasiveness and the plant’s capacity 100TPH target:

1. Vibrating Feeder: ZSW9638

● Function: This sturdy feeder is the first point of contact for the raw granite. It steadily transports the large granite boulders (up to 500mm) from the hopper to the jaw crusher. Its primary role is to ensure a consistent and controlled feed rate, which is crucial for optimizing the entire production line's efficiency and preventing blockages.

2. Primary Jaw Crusher: PE600x900

● Function: As the workhorse of the plant, the jaw crusher performs the primary, heavy-duty size reduction. It is designed to crush the large, raw granite rocks into smaller, manageable stones of about 150mm.

● Key Features: The PE600x900 model is renowned for its simple structure, high reliability, and powerful crushing capability. Its large feed opening and deep crushing chamber make it perfectly suited for the initial breaking of tough granite.

3. Secondary Impact Crusher: PF1214

● Function: This crusher takes the discharge from the jaw crusher and performs the secondary crushing stage. It further reduces the stone size to the required specifications (e.g., 0-5mm, 5-20mm, 20-40mm). More importantly, the impact crusher is excellent for shaping the aggregates, producing a well-graded, cubical final product that is highly valued in the construction industry.

● Key Features: The PF1214 offers a high reduction ratio and excellent product shape. Its design is efficient for medium-hard rocks like granite, making it a cost-effective choice for the secondary stage.

4.Screening & Conveying: 3YK2160 Vibrating Screen & Belt Conveyors

● Function: The 3-layer vibrating screen is the quality control hub of the plant. It precisely separates the crushed mixture into different final product sizes. The top layer scalps off oversized rocks, which are sent back to the impact crusher for further processing (forming a closed circuit). The middle and bottom layers isolate the finished aggregates.

● Key Features: The 3YK2160 vibrating screen provides high screening efficiency with its triple-deck design. A network of belt conveyors seamlessly connects all equipment, ensuring smooth material transfer from feeding to final product stockpiling, which is vital for maintaining a continuous 120TPH output.

Key Advantages of 2-stage Stone Crusher Plant

1. Optimized for Hard Rock: The combination of a robust jaw crusher and a shaping impact crusher is specifically chosen to handle the challenges of crushing hard and abrasive granite.
2. Excellent Product Shape: The use of an impact crusher in the secondary stage ensures the final aggregates are cubical and have minimal flaky or elongated particles. This results in superior quality for concrete and asphalt production.
3. Simple & Reliable Operation: The two-stage design is mechanically simpler than three-stage plants, leading to easier operation, lower maintenance complexity, and reduced initial investment costs.
4. High Efficiency & Flexibility: The closed-circuit design with the 3YK1237 screen ensures that all oversized material is recirculated, guaranteeing that 100% of the output meets the required specifications. The plant can also be adjusted to produce different aggregate sizes based on market demand.
5.Proven Cost-Effectiveness: This configuration offers an ideal balance between performance, durability, and operational cost, providing an excellent return on investment for quarry operators in Zimbabwe.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to the most common questions about Baichy Machinery. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact us.

1. Is an Impact Crusher suitable for crushing hard granite?

This is a common concern. While granite is abrasive, modern impact crushers like the PF1214 are designed with high-chromium blow bars that offer good wear resistance. The excellent product shape they produce often justifies the wear parts cost. For extremely abrasive granite, a cone crusher could be considered, but it typically comes with a higher initial cost and may produce a slightly less cubicle product.

2. Can this plant produce manufactured sand (0-5mm)?

Yes, the 0-5mm product from the screen can be sold as a crusher dust or quarry dust, commonly used in block making and as a sub-base material. However, for high-quality manufactured sand with a controlled grading and shape for concrete, adding a Sand Making Machine (VSI) would be necessary as a tertiary stage.

3. How is the final product size controlled?

The final product size is primarily controlled by adjusting the discharge opening of the secondary PF1214 impact crusher and by selecting the appropriate screen mesh sizes on vibrating screen. The closed-circuit system ensures that any oversized material is continuously recirculated until it passes through the screens.

4. What about spare parts and technical support in Zimbabwe?

Reputable crusher manufacturers and suppliers typically have a network of local dealers or partners to ensure the availability of critical spare parts like jaw plates and blow bars. Before purchase, it is essential to confirm the supplier's local support capability to minimize potential downtime.
